Taking Action: Having Power Over Your Destiny

Taking action is not always easy and can be done in many different ways, but first let’s explore why we need to take action.

Having power over your destiny is important. It allows you to be the driver and take your own path to your destination. It allows you to make your own choices that are right for you and to discover what you need and want from your life.

Say you want to start a YouTube Channel. There are several actions involved with making this a reality. The first thing to do to take Action is to make a list of everything you can think of that you will need for this endeavor. You need to decide what your channel will be about. What camera equipment and sound equipment you will need. What the setting will look like and anything you might need to build and decorate it. Next, you need to add to that list if you require anyone’s help, how much that will cost if you can get a volunteer, and so on.

These very first Action steps will make the path you travel more efficient, stable, and reliable.

This is how it works with everything in life. First, we must take action, but taking the first step is the hardest. Deciding to take Action, deciding to get out of your head, and believe in yourself, deciding to live the life that you deserve. Well, you can plan for this as well. Set a date, any date. This date will represent your stand up and jump of the cliff date. The day you finally jump in the pool and get wet. Now work backward from there. What do you need before you can take the plunge? Do you need a computer, a printer, an agenda? Do you need a space to work? Will that be your kitchen or dining room table? When do you have time to work? Is it in the morning, afternoon, or evening? Is it any specific day of the week and so on. Then take one step further back. Do you have an idea, what does that look like? Who will be involved and when will they be involved? Then take one step further back to today. What can you do today? Envision the finished product, down to the last detail, and then tomorrow you can take the first step. Oh, wait, that has already happened. You took Action. You’ve already made progress in the right direction. You are on your way.

How hard was that?
